Kindergarten Art Project
Good Morning Boston! Nothing tops the innocence and individuality of fingerprints on paper. Fiske's youngest artists blend bright colors and soft lines to represent their love for Boston, and their school. Over two lessons, the Kindergarteners developed this collaborative piece of artwork, working hard to choose their favorite colors and perfect locations to make their mark on this magnificent piece, the result as unique as the fingertip whorls themselves. March 2016 acrylic & paper

Stick to It Half painting and half sculpture, the first grade piece is composed of ordinary objects -- wooden sticks -- reimagined as works of art. The whimsy subverts our accustomed responses to these familiar objects (do you see popsicle sticks, or tongue depressors?), which were a blank slate for the kids' creativity. Using vibrant colors and patterns, the piece invites exploration as a whole or in the minute details of this giant puzzle of first graders' individuality. March 2016 Wood, acrylic & canvas

Grade 2 Art Project
'My Heart in the Palm of Your Hand' is an emotional photograph that celebrates the love and unity the artists express by simply sitting side by side on the floor and putting their hands together. The rich colors of clothes and skin show how differences can become similarities when you put your heart into it. March 2016 Photograph

Reach for the Stars This unique, framed photograph shows that the third-grade artists are all stars when they work together! This constellation, created across the classrooms, becomes a Fiske firmament of our five-pointed axiom: Fair, Inclusive, Safe, Kind and Encouraging. Together we can all reach for the stars! Grade 4 Art Project
In Tangled, our fourth grade artists combine sophisticated techniques to assemble an intricate masterwork that puts their emotions into technicolor exuberance. Each strip was individually composed, projecting in patterns and colors the geometry of love, fear, and friendship. A lot of feeling went into this complex grid!March 2016, paper, oil pastel with water, color pencil.

Grade 5 Art Project
Don't Forget To.... What do fifth graders think hovers on the horizon beyond Fiske, and what do they hope remains? The expectations of the 'end of a phase' are revealed in this masterpiece. Look closely, and their smiles and hopeful eyes are the expression of what is coming beyond elementary school. Stand back, and the artists themselves form four essential words that should be a part of our lives, every day. March 2016 Photograph
