Auction FAQs

What if I cannot attend the event on May 6th?  Can I still participate in the auction?

Yes! You can still participate by donating to your child’s grade gift, becoming a family sponsor and/or bidding on silent auction items from home.

Is there a dress code?

Cocktail party attire is suggested and derby accessories (hats, etc.) are encouraged, but not required.  Please note that Wellesley Country Club has a strict no denim policy.

Are children allowed to attend the event?

No, this is a parent/guardian/faculty/staff only event.  Please leave children at home. 

What is a wine pull and how do I participate?

Like the Lollipop pull at Wild West, buy a chance to grab a great bottle of wine to take home.  You may use your bidder number at the auction to participate (note that the wine pull will open at 7:00pm and will be open until the wine runs out!).

What are party boards and how do I participate?

Several Fiske families have offered to host parties at their homes or other venues (parties in previous years have included ping pong, paddle tennis, dodgeball, chef led cooking demonstrations, etc.).  Families will be able to sign-up to attend these parties on a first come, first serve basis the night of the event (sign-up cost will vary based on the party).  This is a great way to meet and socialize with other Fiske families.  Party board sign-ups will be open from 6:30-7:30pm, but they fill up fast so sign-up early on in the evening!

What are grade art projects and how do I purchase one?

Mrs. Cosgrove, the Fiske art teacher, is working with each grade on a special art project for the auction.  All art projects will be on display at the event and will be available for silent bidding (at the event) from 6:30 – 8:30pm.  The winners will be announced at 8:30.

What auction items will be available to bid on?

A full list of auction items will be sent home via backpack mail just after April vacation.  That will give you time to review the auction packages and decide if you’d like to bid on anything.

Are there auction items available only to those who attend the event?

Live auction items (including grade gifts), party boards, wine pull and grade art projects will only be available at the event.  All other items will be available online via the silent auction.
